When I came out, one of my brothers jokingly asked if he had to introduce me as his "gay brother" from then on.  "Do I have to introduce you as my straight brother?" was my immediate reply.  Orientation is not and should never be one's sole identifier yet in this age of social networking we are constantly being pushed and prodded to pick a label.  At what point did "just being me" become not enough?  Sometimes it seems that the hardest thing for people to do is to remain individuals yet - in the end - that's the ultimate goal.  If coming out is about being true to one's core self then shouldn't it also lead to a truer sense of individuality?  Forgo the labels and sub-groups and work on just being you.
